The woman has the incredible neck angle considered mannered by some critics of the "Mannered" style of Renaissance art. This shows it is physically possible - but still mannered. Good composition in the Renaissance style often imitated since then.

Thanks for the comments. These dancers are VERY flexible (with or without the pillow), they can do quite extreme things. I'm shooting stages for a local cultural center time to time on a voluntary basis, this how I can participate on the rehearsals.

Well done MC, great exposure and a wonderfully sweet and tender moment you have captured. I, too, am curious how you manage to get all these interesting scenes. :-)

Nice job of capturing the dramatic light here MC. Maybe it is just the angle, but I can't help but think that actress is very flexible or has a broken neck ;-) I'm guessing either you attend the theater a lot or maybe work in the industry?

Now having seen a few of the shots from this stage, I'm wondering if you would share what it is they were performing. This is such a nice tender moment (with or without the pillow).

Precisely what love and affection stands for. Good start

Excellent stage photo exactly appropriate to the challenge, and hilarious comment from rodbam. Rod you need to work on your "willing suspension of disbelief".

Excellent picy & dramatic lighting, nicely done mate. Trouble is I can imagine her walking off stages & removing the pillow from her knickers:-)
