Great light, shapes & colours

The lighting here is excellent. When the sun looks so strong I can feel it just on one side of me it must be on topic. -Doug

I remember this wall and all its character and now we have another curious shadow to boot. I'm not sure I think these strong shadows are just right for the topic as they steel the show from the side lit subject a bit, but they are interesting.

Another great shadow image! Almost looks like some otherworldly being helping out. Love the brilliant color and great textures.

A shot plenty of quality, as usual. Outstanding work Mr. TV. Daniel.

Yes it really has wot us pros call "pop" now:-) I think we have to get more creative Tommy as Penny is wiping the floor with us with her latest batch of picys. Don't you hate it when the student gets better than the grand masters.

Yes Rod, weekends are fun.. anyway.. does it look any better now?

That's strange Tommy as it loaded into PS it told me it was in Abobe RGB & the default for my PS is sRGB so I had to convert it to sRGB. I just downloaded this new version & it went straight into PS as a sRGB.........Do you drink much at the weekends:-)

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I've concluded that what I was seeing was little more than sloppy processing. Camera and PS are set to sRGB and I use a 20" high res monitor so all should be ok from that perspective. Could be my eyes.. especially after a late night out. Lesson: don't rush the processing - especially late at night. It is now reprocessed to be as natural as I can remember it.

I recognize the alien-brooms wall! Direct sunlight does things to surfaces but the colors look fine to me, nice mix too. Nice shot. The helper seems to do a fair deal of the work lol

Yes it has a slight wash of bland across the picy Tommy & it's the dreaded Adobe RGB x sRGB thingy. I think what might be happening is your Nikon is set up to shoot Adobe RGB & your Canons are on the default sRGB. The Adobe RGB doesn't display well on the internet as most browsers are set up for viewing sRGB. The Adobe RGB has a slightly wider colour gamut & you need a his res monitor that can display the wider colour gamut Adobe RGB.
The Adobe RGB can print up a bit better than sRGB, so far I've only printed sRGB so I will have to try Adobe RGB one day.
Maybe set your Nikon to shoot in the sRGB colour space then you won't have to bother converting it in PS for internet use.
I changed the picy to sRGB & gave it a bit of an S shape in the curves ( similar to increasing the contrast) tool & it look a lot better even if slightly overdone for the approval of the girls:-)

Tom, my monitor shows all the colors as vibrant with the rusty tin on the right, the mop head without the mop and the white part of the board over his head being very close to burning out.

Although his shadow is very interesting, this is still about side lighting since his left arm and what he is doing is almost hidden by side lighting so it is interesting to try and see what he is doing.

The colors here look very natural, TV - plenty of color, without being overly-saturated.

Rod, does this look ok on your monitor. It seems bland on mine. I've been using some of the auto processing in PS to see if it changes much from my processing and this didn't. But it still looks a little washed out.

Excellent picy Tommy, you & Penny got some great shadows that are features of the shot. This works really well.

Great shadow and lots of nice color and different textures.

RK, it' s an old Nikkor 28-200 AF-D. Not the sharpest but relatively compact and handy for walking around.

Great colors here Tv. The rusty red on the door, purple plastic bin, touch of green. The shadow of the man and brooms, lots of interesting details.
