Thanks everyone for the nice comments :-) I love the character of this garage and expect it will be getting hit by the wrecking ball quite soon when I consider all the new buildings that have gone up around it.

I love the Urban feel it gives .... great use of light !!!

Well I think everyone has just about said it..great take and it certainly looks like I would not like to be there alone (maybe it is our own unsafe situation that makes me say that )

Rod I have been in trouble to fall asleep at night lately. Pills didnīt work so now Iīm trying Photoshop Help reading before going to bed every night. No positive results yet but at least Brent now thinks I know a lot about PPing. Daniel.

Stunning shot, Brent! Wonderful find and the lighting couldn't be more perfect to accentuate the grunge and fit the challenge theme. Nicely done, indeed!

I remember seeing this garage with a Mini parked in it. I think that Mini would have looked good in this scene/lighting too. -Doug

Daniel can you please speak English, layer, blend, opacity, too many foreign words mate:-)

I agree Brent, Topaz adjust should be used carefully. Or, like you said, things look "overdone". But you can get an "overdone" image as a new layer, blend it with the original image, and adjust the opacity to get a more natural result. I often do this. Daniel.

Quite interesting contrast between the wall of windows and the dark, grungy garage. Good capture, but I sure wouldn't want to leave my car in there!

Thanks for the comments all :-) This is indeed one grungy garage, I was backed into a corner when I shot this and had to wash off my backpack after it rubbed against the filthy wall. I'd love to do a model shoot in this spot some day (being sure she stays away from the walls).
Daniel, no HDR (done two in my life) and no Topaz either- just some slider work with a single RAW image and some levels and curves mostly in PS. I did finally purchase Topaz Adjust recently since I can't seem to win it for free ;-) So far I think I need to learn to use it better as everything seems overdone and I prefer the look I get on my own- though it's a lot slower than using a filter.

Outsanding shot Brent!. Let me ask you: HDR + Topaz Adjust?. Daniel.

Nice view (out the window, that is). And I like your wide perspective and framing.
 (09/11/2009 @ 10:35:53 EST)
I like that you let the light just barely render what's at the back left. Nice one.

Nice grungy shot Brent - good thing you had to go in to work on a Sunday or you wouldn't have been able to take this great shot! Nice tones, light, and lines.

Wow, you're quick JP! Changed the title to explain the empty state. This is downtown where I had to work a bit on Sunday but it will be full on Monday. Thanks :-)
