Great play with light here, I love all the geometric shapes in buildings and shadows. Has a great graphic look to it.

Great looking graphical image Jill! You've caught the perfect light for the topic here. That's a rather tight mass of humanity there, but so esthetically pleasing I think I could deal with it just fine. Excellent work.

Thanks Penny, that is most kind of you:-)

Jill, don't loose track of this photo. It's a keeper and I keep coming back to look again.

Thanks Helen. yes too close for me as well.
CJ, thanks for the kind words. I do not think this is solar, it is Corrugated Iron. Solar, whilst ideal for our weather is too costly too install, specially if it is a housing system where cost is critical.

Wonderful graphical image Jill and I agree that the shapes and tones give this a cubist look. Those must be solar panels on the roofs. The units do seem a bit too close for comfort to me though too!

Fascinating capture, Jill. I was trying to figure out at first if it was real. Fun to look at, but the idea of living somewhere like this gives me claustrophobia (and I thought row houses were close)!

Hi Penny, Yes you are absolutely correct. I did go to that link that you put up, found it most intersting:-) Thanks again.

Thanks so very much to all who commented. We went on the hill above our house and I spotted this. Penny thanks so very much for that link, I shall definately look at it... :-)

this is great.... all the shapes and colors. Good contrasts too. I agree with Rod about the cubist feel - look up Picasso "Houses on the Hill".
 (11/11/2009 @ 21:31:15 EST)
Very arty. It almost look like a painting. Nicely seen and captured.
 (11/11/2009 @ 21:27:14 EST)
The minimal number of color combined with a sharp contrast work well. -Doug

Sort of cubist init, what a great exposure to suit the abstract nature of this. Excellent seeing & picy Jill, very well done.

Hi JP, thanks so much. It is a new complex, if you look very carefully you will see the washing-up area in the minute courtyard ( Look in LH corner), there is also a fire extinguisher. These units appear to be back to back, would think if you sneezed the neighbours would definately hear you.( so each unit is the size of a sloping roof (black). You can also see everyone has a barbeque area( see chimneys). The small gate indicates their demarked area. I would think you could definately call this 'cluster ' living...definately not for me. Certainly lots to look at. It has been built on a recently cleared section, and unfortunately sometimes the very small living areas are being built, it just affords someone an entry level home. I , with the exception of the small little window on the side wall, see no evidence of windows.

Good eye!. Clever composition, I like the limited range of colors and geometrical elements. Daniel.
