Excellent, gritty scene! The blue hue is just right for this too.

Very good composition, and blue works fine for me. I seem to remember something about hues of blue being the colors we are able to differentiate best between.

I'm not sure about the blue tone but the emotional content with the wheelchair in an alley is outstanding. Excellent capture Brent. -Doug

I agree, toning is perfect, sets the right mood for the scene. Nice work!

The gray sky would contrast with a warmer tone I think. Your choice of blue was a good one.

One Der Full, what more can I say. Perfect Duo.

I agree, the toning here enhances the image and helps create a very moody environment. Good composition and PP too, Brent!

I think the cold blue toning is a good choice here, Brent - for the reasons you articulated. Good composition and very moody.

Thanks Ivan and Frank, appreciate the additional feedback Ivan. This is 100% coffeehouse laptop edited and at the time I thought the bluish color tone would help portray the alley for the depressing place that it is and I also felt the gallery could use a little diversity with mostly warm images placed there. I may experiment with a warmer tone when I have some time though as it would make for a friendlier place to roll to as you state Ivan- maybe a tritone is what this needs :-)

I had been thinking about the color....Brent, have you tried a warmer tone?
Could be interesting to express the optimism of the brighter place?

Brilliant shot. Really tells a story. Perfect toning to get the mood. The wet, broken concrete is the icing on the cake.

Wow, I love the emotion in that shot. Very touching. I know this place and have been shooting there with a couple of friends last week, but did not come out with anything but a couple of rat shots...This is far more interesting than what I got. Good job making the most of this desolate alley and provoking thoughts and emotions.

Thanks Etna and Ron :-) I don't know who this guy is and would not have run up the alley to capture him if he could have easily turned around to see what I was doing. He appears to be one of the many Native Americans we have in my area. Many of them are proud and happy people, but the ones you often see downtown like this fellow are there to get handouts from tourists. Many have fallen victim to alcoholism and other substance abuse and I would not be surprised if this person ended up in the wheel chair because of such abuse. One can only hope he'll see a brighter place some day.

Who is he - where is he going. Great thought provoking shot Brent
