Taken in my homemade cardboard softbox ($0 cost), with my wireless flash at 2 o'clock slightly forward of centre as the primary light source.
The conversion to B&W was with max red filtering, to keep the petals from going too dark; thus accepting the toning better.

This is really lovely Jerry and the toning, DOF, and grain work very well. I like that it's not a perfect rose as the spots add character and interest to the lone rose. I like the color version too.

The texture really did come up great on this one Jerry. I really get a sense of that soft/moist texture of the rose and the duotone touch makes this very unique. Very well done, looks like your homemade box is working very well for you.
