I just caught the title now... hehe, 2001 is probably my fave movie just based on how many times I've watched it. This shot definitely has this elegance and grace of objects floating in a vacuum of space. I'm guessing the middle object is the monolith?... suddenly I feel like putting a little of the ol' in & out... errrr, sorry, that's another Kubrick theme... make that a little of the ol' Strauss into the CD player...

Thanks all.
Penny, Rod pretty much summed it up... thanks Rod. This was shot near Battery Park.

This is soooo good RK - I love it! Very surreal and your PP is perfect - thanks for sharing it!

I don't know if I can help you place where this is Penny as the PPing has altered what you would see with your eye in the same spot but as far as these three objects are concerned it seems that RK just aimed almost straight up while standing under an overhead traffic light. It's possible the blackness has obscured some building details so you can't really place where this is.

I'm looking again and I'm still having a hard time relating the three isolate, yet graphic, things to each other.
I know this was taken in NYC and I want to relate. Someone please help me.

Talk about dramatic! It sort of reminds me of some scene out of a scary movie ;-), but great capture and effective processing.

Great stuff RK- totally unique! It does seem you are using the M8 more this challenge and to great effect I would add. Excellent :-)

FANTASTIC !!! If I was a betting man I would be taking odds on this as a winner, what more can I say.

Thanks all.
Tv, following is the processing..
- create a duplicate layer of original
- convert to b&w with red filter to get the skies black
- overlay the layer and reduce the opacity a bit.

It's really hard to say what the effects of the conditions & camera or the effects of the PPing we're doing for this topic but for some reason the Leica picys from RK seem to have a look about them that even shows through the PPing like this. Great pov & picy mate.

Good surreal capture RK and I'm wondering just what processing produced the deep blacks and murky grays of the sky. Or is it just fog and convenient ligthting of Manhattan atmosphere?

Very nice as the taller building disappears into space.

Outstanding!. I like the strong contrast and the red&B&W combination. Daniel.
