Hallways and arched ceilings seem to lend themselves very well to B&W conversions, especially older structures with stone or brick work.

I had not heard of in-camera HDR so it is very interesting to see this. It might have a little bit less HDR look if it were burned a little as this almost has a flash look to the closest bricks. Wonderful architecture and great framing with leading lines down to the door.

Well I have to say the thought of in-camera HDR sounded very unappealing to me when I first heard those were on the horizon. Now that I've seen it used here in your hands it has been utilized to good effect (though I would prefer a slightly less HDR look). Well chosen scene here, I really like the light at the end of the tunnel effect too.

Nice textures and I like the blocks of bricks and tiles in the contrasty light.

Very interesting texture on the walls, Justin, and love that light at the end of the hall, almost supernatural looking. Nice capture!

This I enjoy. Always something about "old" that nothing can replace. Makes me feel like I am approaching the pearly gates. Good PP.

I suppose this HDR has it uses but it just doesn't look like a picy a. These things look like backgrounds to computer games & you don't need a camera to make them.
I bet you could have got a terrific picy here Justin.

I am with Jerry here Zack, it seems that the HDR function works very well :-). Daniel.

Thank you both. This was an in-camera HDR shot, a neat trick of the new A550, which helped with the bright light and deep shadow. The subject was screaming for B&W treatment.

Impressive shot with intricate detail and as Jerry pointed out, the lighting on the floor walks you all the way to the end.

Wonderful light and textures here, Justin! The reflected light on the stone surfaces really makes the shot. Love the symmetry, too.

I too really like this shot..the colouring, textures and subtle B&W HDR treatment. It works for me.
