Good eye, John. Great colors, textures and composition. Some (including me) may have been tempted to crop out the bright sky in the far upper left, but I quite like it... shows the source of the beautiful light.

Beautiful greens, we are being led up into the mist , the roar of the water far below. Lovely atmospheric shot John.

Well I do think your wife's office must be the richer, for this to be hanging in it..wonderful capture.

With the misty atmosphere (well captured), this shot looks like a much more productive interpretation of this place as peaceful woodsy solitude. Your description and efforts to get the shot belie the beauty of the result.

This fooled me completely, if I still had some of my old film work handy, I'd scan one shot in particular which I swear looks just like your shot here, John, same architecture, foliage, etc., except mine was taken in Elora Gorge, Ontario. Splendid capture, lots of climatic mood in this one!

Wonderful and pleasing composition!

Wow, beautiful color and light, and intriguing composition. I especially like the clarity in the foreground and the mist in the distance.

Simple yet very effective. Beautiful photo, John.

Really nice how you lead the viewer into this gorgeous scene John.

Interesting idea - to take a photo of the path rather than the view. Works nicely. If you have fond memories of the place then this image will be precious to you.

Thanks Carol and Penny. This scene is hardly touched up. The Canon favors reds and this was a jpg straight from the start. The sun was starting to come out which helped light the shot. The fog is also composed of mist from the waterfall. The scene was so peaceful. I learned something this day too. Take the shot first when it happens. We were the only ones here at first so I didn't bother to shoot thinking I had plenty of time. Then the buses of people showed up. I had to stand on a rock ledge posed with Theresa signaling me when we had a people-less opening to take the shot ... about 15 minutes. But when I look at this shot, I think of the half hour we had this place all to ourselves.

I remember this - one of the first picys I saw of yours and it's still just as beautiful!! I like the way you've brightened up the highlights. The little touches of red , the different shades of green, and the fog are all really nice.

I went cheap on this one, just an 8x10. Plain black mat and black wood frame since it was kind of dark. My wife's office is short on wall space bulletin boards white boards and charts/maps so it sits on her desk. The metallic print did a great job in rendering a bright fog mist with the sun just starting to peep through.

This isn't the most popular in this set [link] . But it is one of my favorites and I had it printed on Kodak Metallic and framed for my wife's office. One of several road trips this year. It rained most of the time but the beauty in one of Arkansas' favorite parks speaks for itself. No biking here although they are putting a small bike trail ... just walking. [link]

This is a very beautiful image John and it deserves to be printed! How did it look all framed up? I'd be interested in seeing what it looked like with the mat and frame you chose.
