This is a "Best of" exhibition-only gallery, meaning that no voting and no final rankings will take place...
Pick up to two photos you've taken during 2009 which you feel are your very best work this year. The photos can be of any subject, taken with any make/model camera. Process the photos to what is in your view their "finished" state (or leave them as-is if you're not into post-processing), then simply upload them to this gallery.
Once again, the intent here is to create a gallery of people's favorites/bests... the only challenge is for you to determine which two photos represent your best of 2009!
Have fun!

Penny made me post it :)
I was taking a photo of this narrow alley when from nowhere this little girl zoomed by running playfully. Then she stopped and looked back.
Hope I can link to the other photos so you can see how things unfolded. It was rather quick.

Thanks Jil and Ron.
Jil: You read my mind, I couldn't have said it better. Ron: Me too, the wires didn't bother me much.
Thank you lady and gent.

I like the way you've framed this & like the wires looping off up the alley way. The little girl's rather inquisitive stance is great, A real feel of the Med.

Really enjoy this take...it has a haunting appeal that I find very captivating....the loneliness, yet inquisitiveness of this child.

Thanks CJ, Penny, Debi, Helen, John, Rod, Martin, and Tom. Really appreciate your comments, guys.
CJ: I thought about your suggestion then realized that if I crop some of the top the wires will be emphasized more. John: The "?" is because she is probably thinking "who is that guy, and what is he doing". Penny: Totally agree with you. From the 1,100+ photos I took in that trip this one I was more excited about to go home and see it. Rod mate: My PP skills are not good enough to get rid of those wires :) Debi: Indeed. Curiosity was written all over her cute face. Martin: It wasn't a series, eventhough I took 3 or 4 pics. What I meant is that it happened by accident and quickly. Tom: Cheers, mate. Helen: Yes. Not only from the same country but about 300-400 meters from my other pic I posted.

Great candid you captured, aam. Makes me wonder what it is she's thinking. Was this shot in the same "Med country"?

Good shot Aam. Well framed and spontaneous.

Nicely framed here, Aam, I thought at first maybe this was taken somewhere from my neck of the woods but I think it's actually Greece (?). If this is one of a series, please link the rest, man! ;)

This has come out so well, with the girl turning back with visible curiosity on her face

This works really well Aam & just to make it perfect why don't you just clone out those couple of overhead wires....Won't take long a:-)

Nice one! I like the view of the long passageway and how the little girl has turned to look back at you, giving perspective to the whole thing. These things do happen quickly but when it's all done, you feel like you've captured a bit of magic. (at least I do).

Al, I don't get the sensation of "?". Instead I get the feeling of "Are you coming or what?" ... like you know her and she is waiting for you to catch up. You have a nice frame at the top.

Really good Aam! She adds perspective and interest to the image. Nice lighting and textures and I like how the buildings frame her. I might crop this differently, either putting her more to the top or bottom of the frame - but that's just me! Very nice as is too! :-)
