Thanks Ernest - I wasn't lying on my back because the ground wasn't very clean, but hey that's a great idea for the next time I go there !

A great perspective shot. Shows what can be had while lying on one's back. good work.

Very well captured Ivan, like the the warm to cool aspect of the sky and the color of the sculpture came out really nice too. I like the one in the drop box a lot as well, but having personal experience with how much the Space needle can dominate the skyline I can see you choosing to leave it out for a change.

I think its cool that he curved the ends up there. I like the one in the drop box equally well.

I like both pictures but this one is better for the shadow challenge. Lucky you to find the blue sky to go with the rusty orange.
(no blue skies on the east coast lately).

Thanks Ron, I appreciate the compliment (so would John Fleming if he could hear you ;-)

I captured another shot of this sculpture which I like even more (I think the Needle adds variety and the composition has great energy with all lines leading to a point within the rule of the thirds). Unfortunately the sun was behind the clouds and as a result there are no shadows...I am posting it anyway so you can see it as well. Ivan.

This is excellent. I think you have done John Fleming great credit here, & yourself of course.

Hi, and thanks for the nice comments. This is a painted steel sculpture in Seattle Center called Grass Blades, from John Fleming. I was walking there yesterday with the kids as the sun was getting low and noticed how the shadows of each blade was impacting the other blades, creating some interesting effects that seemed to add to an already dramatic verticality. If you want to know more about this sculpture go [link]

Interesting sculpture I would like to see more of it. The rusty color shows well against the bluish sky.

Exquisite, different and wonderful lighting...also puzzled.

What a composition Ivan. Please tell me what it is. A monument?
