Great light and color, and i like the softness of the scene in the distance, almost dream like. Nice work!

Thanks for the info John. I'll look into it.

Ron, I like what I have gotten from this lab http://www.dalelabs.com/iprints_welcome.html but I am sure there are others that use metallic papers too. I find Dale Labs inexpensive enough to try matte, glossy, and metallic with an 10x8 and then decide what I might want bigger.

Talking about chocolate box ... isn't that printed in aluminum foil?

John, I know nothing about printing on different papers but am going to look into it as I would like to make a print of this for myself.
Ernest, I agree it is very chocolate boxy. I regard this as a compliment.
Thanks both.

Picture perfect. When I was a kid I would have bought this on a chocolate box for my mom on her birthday. Well done again.

Having just played around with printing on Kodak Metallic paper, this one would be a beauty on it. It would pick up this light and look as if it was backlit. It is always a special treat when you see something like this ... I get nervous and snap several knowing it might be a long while before I see the next one.

Thanks Brent & Doug. Al your comment is taken very much as a compliment - many thanks.

Is this a photograph or a painting (that's a major compliment).

We constantly strive for razor sharp images but it's the lack of sharpness that gives this a dreamy postcard look. Most excellent.

Looks like a chilly place for a hike. I really like the dreamy quality this image takes on off in the distance. Nice work Ron.

Thank you all very much for such kind comments. It was lovely up in the woods that day but I wasn't really expecting any decent pics to come out.

Love the softness in the trees at the center of the image.

Very nicely executed difficult lighting situation. The light seems to glow and make the cold scene seem warm and friendly.

What a beauty! The colours & light simply beautiful, love the elements of the snow and the frail branches of these wonderful trees, going on forever.
