Excellent composition! I also quite like the way the shadow is almost translucent. Well seen and captured!

Brilliantly set up, composed and executed shot, MCsaba. Great work!

I just remembered an excellent performance of Hamlet that I saw by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford, England in 1999. In the part Hamlet sets up by saying, "The play's the thing", they used puppets on a table, that were brightly lit from in front, so that huge shadows appeared on the backdrop. I made a mental note to use this kind of staging sometime, (a note that was frayed, forlorn, and forgotten until this image).

I would think you would be very busy watching these performances since their shadows are competing with them. Because of the lighting setup I'm guessing the audience is supposed be paying more attention to the shadows since the shadows can have more contortions.

Always a treat to see your performing arts pictures.

Very distinctive image well captured MC. Must have been a very captivating performance to see live.

The silhouette is real shadow, check out the fingers. It is hard to observe from front that the girls' legs are bent - but they are. The light that produces the shadow is sharply focused just above the ground, that's why the shadow on the floor and the foots of the background silhouette are missing. In addition, there were light sources on both sides and above too - it was a very tricky setup. This was shot on the "Soloduo" festival, featuring 30 short performaces (~3-5 minutes each) in three days.

I´m not sure about your thought Penny...See the shadows in the floor and the legs of the silhouettes in the background. But I could be wrong too.

Tricky angle makes it very hard tell, Daniel ..... but I think i have concluded that the shadows are those of these two dancers. I still could be wrong though.

It took me some time to notice the silhouettes in the background were not shadows from the dancers in the foreground. A tricky and well executed entry.

I like how the shadow shows a different point of view than the actual. Well composed.

Perfect!! I hope you're shown this to the dancers so they can see how good they all are.
