Had fun setting up this shot of an Ostrich Egg :-) Could not decide which to post, other in the Drop box.

Penny, Brent & Helen. Thank you. Glad you liked it. The Large Ostrich egg does have an interesting shell. I have collected 20 odd & have them in a larger copper bowl. I collect, Jill cleans. :-)

Fascinating shadow, Ernest, and great image.

Awesome texture on that egg and such a clever idea for a shot- well done Ernest.

Your ideas are similar, but it's fun to see the different takes. and this is fun because the shadow is not on a flat surface. Plus I love the texture of the egg shell.

I didn't realize that it was an ostrich egg until I read the comments. I guess that accounts for the texture of the shell. The shadow takes on a life of its own from being in that position. It's a simple image but striking.

Great shot Ernest! Seems we have some ideas in common to play with. I also like the one in the db very much.

Very creative. Intrigued at how the shadow of the fork stops at the edge of the egg.

I think this is a really neat shot. Very original. I do especially like how the egg's own shadow does seem to be hugging the egg. I also see a lunar eclipse effect in there. Nice still shot.

Hi Dan. Never thought of it being seen as a golf ball, but you are correct :-)

John, Thank you. I must say I wanted the drop box image as the main but thought folks may not see what the tool is ( Spaghetti fork, also used to remove eggs from boiling water). :-)

Another clever entry Ernest!. First time I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a golf ball instead of a egg ;-).

I'm slightly more partial to the one in the drop box Ernest. I'm guessing it is because I'm really not too familiar with that shadow and had to think about it ... which gave me some time to realize how it looks like other things as well.

Hi Maryanne. Thank you. One Ostrich egg is equal to 24 chicken eggs, so it is pretty large :-).

How clever, Ernest. The shadow of the fork looks almost like a hand hugging the egg. BTW I didn't know that ostrich eggs had such texture. What's the size of the egg?
