Franky, I must admit the "10/10" put a big smile on my face :) I just came back from a 2 day seminar on "business writing" and the man running it, a very wise man, couldn't emphasise enough on how the little details in a sentence can have a huge impact on the reader. So, thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it.

Wonderful creative idea and perfect execution! 10/10

Are you referring to something like this: [link] or did I misinterpret you completely?
 (25/01/2010 @ 19:25:21 EST)
A great example of "fruit" PacMan ... a US cultural thing, I think.

Hi Rod! Long time no see fella! What have you been up to? Thank you for your comment. You shouldn't make conclusions without facts though ;) To be honest the idea developed when i was experimenting with "see through" lighting. I was trying to flash some light through a slice of lemon and it then hit me.

Really well done mate & bouncing the flash always is my first option for any flash picy, it certainly worked great here. The pip out the back is very naughty & a superb bit of thinking. Congratulate your girlfriend for me for the great idea:-)

Haha! Didn't we all jr? Jerry, before I used fresh cherries I was playing with some glazed ones. I will put an example in the dropbox to show you how it looks without a stem (Note that this was before I found a solution to my shadow problems...). Although glazed and real cherries are not quite the same I think the green stems break the monotony and give the picture its character. With a little imagination the cherries are running for their life. To make them "fit in geometrically" I tried to place the cherries in such a way so that the stems follow the curve of the lemon. I would try your suggestion if I still had the cherries. Unfortunately, I ate them already.

Great idea and well-executed, Christakis. Sure is imaginative.
I'm wondering if the cherries without the stems might make for a "cleaner" composition???

I can hear the music. I spent far too many weeks of my life playing Pac-man on my Atari 800 computer. Very good idea, and well shot. Great colour and minimalism.

Good morning and thank you for your comments guys. The idea popped up when I tried to combine "food" with "eating". I was like Food, Eating, Food, Eating, Food Eating, Food Eating Food! The colours were just there but the light was a pain. I tried direct flash, diffusing, bouncing and diffusing and nothing worked as the shadows were to harsh. Right about when I was going to give up I tried bouncing it off the ceiling with no diffusion. Put the flash on manual, full power and went for it. The flash kicked a bit, I was blinded for a while but voila the effect I was after :)

This is too funny Christakis! It would indeed make a great fruit ad! ;-)

Clever, clever, clever, & a good shot. This could be used in an advert for sure.
