Good subtle colours, good use of natural light, good image, would not expect anything less :-)

Hi all, thanks much for your comments. Just a bit on the exposure and pp. The shot is taken with little available light. Actually we store our apples in this box in the hallway of our appartment. I just had to move it into the light which comes from the kitchen window. The camera exposes right but what I was after was the muted colors you perceive when it is getting dark. After sharpening and putting the contrast up I desaturated the image quite a bit, finally used another layer for the vignetting. After web resizing a USM for sharpeing. Cheers, Frank

I agree that the subtle colours work really well for this shot. I am curious to learn the PPing you did to this.

This is just comfortable to look at. The soft light and burning around the corners and edges are special. I agree with Rod that it's refreshing to see colors that don't explode off the screen.

This looks way over saturated on on my monitor...........(only kidding):-)
The subtle colours look extraordinary after seeing our colourful picys, well done Franky on resisting the temptation & making this look so natural & real.

Your title made me laugh - but the apples... well, I can almost smell them!! You have a way with compostion that makes me always look twice - and what I notice more and more here is the wonderful light and shadows.
