One would say that taking a picture of something the eye cannot see is impossible. Yet photographers manage to capture feelings, emotions and thoughts.
Sound is exactly the same; It surrounds us, yet we take it for granted and don’t give it much thought. Even now, when you are reading this, you “hear” the words I am writing.
What I would like to see is: Pictures which depict sound (or the lack of it). I want to see the cars revving, the waterfall running, the “happy birthday” song bursting in the room.
Indoors or outdoors this challenge should keep you busy.

Looks like we are not the only ones enjoying the sound, good shot.

Rk, this pic screams sound! It feels like I was there. I can hear the blues, and they are good, the people staring at the performer suggest it. The bloke even leaned on the beam to enjoy the full experience. The blues are not alone though. There's commotion, background noise, which is perfectly shown with the blur. Yet the blues prevail, penetrate the commotion and give a smile to people (Ironic isn't it?). I also like your title. Well done, it's an awesome image and has set the bar high.

I knew it wasn't processed blur. Thanks for the 1.2. I love it. And you managed the focus perfectly. I don't ride the subway much but I never thought there was a ban on taking pics in the station, just on the trains (what do I know though).

Penny, the blurs are not from PP, this was shot wide open with the Voigtlander 35mm 1.2 at 1.2... extreme shallow DOF... think the focus was on the fingers.

Thanks Penny. Penny, wish I worked in NYC, its a photogs paradise.

Thanks Tv, Rod and Doug. Doug, the horn was sooo musical I missed my train. Rod, expected you to rip pictures apart :) Tv, "you have done it this time to my taste" made my day. Didn't know about the ban on photogs in subway.

WOW This is terrific. I love the blurs and the contrasts. Great picture, and I can even hear it.

An early vote consideration for sure. Tommy and Rod already said it all. You can really hear the horn over the commotion in the scene which is exactly what this challenge is about.

Yes everything is right about this, the tones, the place & the involvement of the bystanders looks awesome. Great shot RK.

Rk you have done it this time to my taste. Outstanding "street" shot underground and somewhat rare since the police have only in the recent months been called off from arresting subway photogs. Great capture of the jazzy spirit of the city.
