I work in an industrial area & there are numerous vendors who sell core food stuff to the locals. This trailer home was used for such a venture. The picture tells the story.

Thank you all.

Congrats Ernest! I knew that this one would be hard to beat. :-) Excellent work!

Storytelling subject, excellent backdrop, beautiful contrasts. Together with the moodiness, this is a superb shot.

Ripper of a shot Ernest and I love the processing. I agree, this picture really tells a story.

Love the effect. No idea what you did there but it works really well. The strong contrast makes this pic very dramatic.

What a fantastic shot! Tells more then one full story and graphically it is excellent. Really worth a special award already.

Hi Boys. Thanks for the thumbs up. Even though I was in a rush to get home on Friday, I just had to grab this shot. Fortunately I always have my trusty R1 on the passenger floor of my car LOL. Current rate of exchange makes R10 about US$ 1.35. "Pap" is ground maize, similar to polento, staple diet of Africa.

What a great shot Ernest. Absolute sense of desolation here - the impending storm with tree movement & the rain falling from that threatening sky set off the beaten-up old van perfectly. Sunrise Take Aways - it sounded so promising once.

The more I see it the more I like it. The composition really works great and the sky adds to the drama and desolate mood. Again, congrats on a very good picture. -Ivan

Beef stew and Pap sounds tasty. I always like to try something new. The price is encouraging too. Too bad the wheels came off. The theatrical sky makes the shot, and the title catches the mood.

Excellent job Ernest, there's something very "African" about this image and it's not necessarily about any of the objects in this scene nor based on my experience (none) of visiting Africa. The b&w processing may have something to do with it but I think overall I have to just narrow it down to the "mood" coming off from this photo. Not easy to really put a finger on it but to me one of your very best photos ;)

Not just a thousand words in this image... many thousands of words.

What a beautiful (and sad) picture it is, Ernest. It fits the topic very well, and in a very smart way. I love your B&W conversion and how you controlled both the shadow and the highlights. Beatutiful work!! -Ivan
