Thank you fellows for all your comments! One thing to get a bit light in the dark. The sand is not a beach but prepared for a horse show indoors. And the girl is actually part of the show. Thus many of you were just right who suspected a stage play. It was my leisure to watch and to photograph.

Great shot, almost reminds me of a stage until I see the sand. Unsure how much of this is real and how much is PP, but still a powerful image.

Besutifully done. Not seeing the girl's face adds to the mystery of who she is and what she might be thinking. A very pensive and quiet shot witl brilliant lighting.

This image does what a good image should do..... make you look twice, and also think about what the photographer was intending. It says a whole lot of things - loneliness, abandonment, time out, quiet, searching, waiting ...... and lots more. The beach in the background is also a subtle change of texture - it gives the impression that the girl has been to a formal event (from the clothes and hair) and wishes to be free and have fun on the beach....

Very interesting image - and very powerf

I like the simple but intense lighting used here. The negative space surrounding the girl makes it stand out as a moment of reflection. Even the girl's posture is tense, as if the respite is needed but the time is fleeting.

Oh wow! The mood set here is almost tangible. The lighting really is perfect for the scene.

This image has such dramatic lighting that it seems like a scene prepared for a stage play. The girl's gaze is away from us into a place that we can't see very well, so we concentrate on the mood of the photo and the girl, more than we do on what she is seeing. This image is evocative and lovely.
